Solomon begins his words with a cry for wisdom and a commitment to purity in action and purpose, but inclines to an event that he had apparently witnessed personally (ref.: Proverbs 7). His description of the event is so intense and detailed that it shows much more than a passing concern for a certain young man. Solomon’s rendering is a solemn warning to anyone who may pay less than strict attention to the onset of temptation, or approach of evil.
Prayer to consider: “Heavenly Father, forgive me for those occasions when, in my humanity, I become so involved in daily needs and events that I lower my Spiritual guard and allow myself to become prey to the purveyors of evil. Help me, by Your Holy Spirit, to remain vigilant in both my attention to the relationship that I enjoy with You, and to guard against any attitude or event, on my part, to open a door of opportunity that may allow for Spiritual challenge or even more explicitly failure, in Jesus’ name. Amen.” (May 18, 2024)
It should not be difficult for any believer to readily recognize that it was the Lord, who took care of our sins, touched our hearts to realize that sin was our personal problem, and met each of us at an altar, of sorts, to accept our repentance and welcome each of us into the family of God. It is His privilege and our responsibility to respond to Grace with a genuine and lifelong commitment, so let those who support such a mission encourage those who have chosen a less committal stance to ‘get with it’, while there is still time (ref.: Titus 3:5-8).
Prayer to consider: “My God, help me, by Your Holy Spirit, to never allow myself to settle for a lifeless experience of mere religion in place of true appreciation and devotion to You, for all that was done for me by Your Son, in Jesus’ name. Amen.” (May 17, 2024)
I am always excited when the presence of the Lord, through the Holy Spirit, is manifesting in the preaching of God's Word and the offering of Praise from worshippers!
When the Saints worship openly and freely, the Holy Spirit works through Christians who present themselves as both willing and available. Miracles are not strangers to this Church nor its congregants. Neither does God limit Himself to a single church or community (reference Dante Revival - Archive). Come. Worship with us. Get involved. The enemy of our souls will not like your efforts, but the rewards of successes will more than reward the challenges.
